Privacy Policy

Information the Extension accesses may be used to:

• Provide the Extension's vehicle-listing tools.
• Extract and show listing information in the side panel.
• Send a listing to Scale Trader when you use a feature that needs the server.
• Keep your settings and your sign-in session.
• Keep the Extension reliable and secure.

We do not use information accessed through the Extension for advertising.

When a feature needs the server, listing information may be sent to https://scaletrader.ai/. What is sent depends on the feature and can include the listing details and the page URL.

We use that information to provide the Scale Trader feature you asked for, and for the other purposes in this policy. Sign-in uses your Scale Trader account. The Extension does not receive your password; Chrome and our sign-in provider handle authentication.

On your device, the Extension may store:

• Settings and preferences.
• Sign-in tokens. The access token is short-lived (about 15 minutes). The refresh token lasts up to 30 days and is rotated when it is used.
• A local history of listings you have viewed in the side panel.

On our servers we store:

• Your organization and user record, created when you sign in.
• A device session (a device id, the current refresh-token id, and an expiry) so the Extension can stay signed in and so a reused refresh token can be rejected.

Listing contents sent with an activity update or "send to queue" are not written to the database. The server confirms the request and writes an application log that contains identifiers only: user, organization, device, listing source, and listing id. Seller names and phone numbers are not written to those logs.

The Extension runs on sites operated by other companies:

• AutoTrader UK
• Arabam
• mobile.de

Those sites have their own privacy policies and terms. Scale Trader does not control how they process information. The Extension reads only what it needs to show and process the listing you have open.

The Extension requests these Chrome permissions:

• activeTab

  Lets the Extension interact with the browser tab you are using when you open the side panel or run a command.

• scripting

  Lets Scale Trader read the listing page you already have open, so it can extract the vehicle details shown on that page.

• storage

  Lets the Extension save settings, preferences, and your sign-in session in Chrome's local extension storage.

• tabs

  Lets the Extension see the address of the current tab, notice when you finish loading a supported listing page, and open a listing from your history when you ask it to.

• sidePanel

  Lets Scale Trader show its interface in Chrome's side panel.

• alarms

  Lets the Extension refresh your sign-in session on a schedule so you stay signed in while you work.

• commands

  Provides the shortcut that refreshes the current listing: Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux, Command+Shift+S on Mac.

• identity

  Lets the Extension complete sign-in through Chrome's identity API and return you to the Extension after you authenticate.

Host permissions

The Extension requests access to these URL patterns. They are required to read supported listings and to talk to Scale Trader.

We do not sell personal information collected through the Extension.

We share information from the Extension only when we need to:

• Provide the Scale Trader feature you used.
• Run and maintain our infrastructure, including the providers listed above.
• Comply with the law.
• Protect the security, rights, or property of Scale Trader, our users, or others.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through Scale Trader against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Extension API responses are not cached, sign-in tokens are short-lived and rotated, and a reused refresh token revokes that device session.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, unless the law requires longer.

• Account records stay while your Scale Trader account exists.
• A device session ends when you sign out, when the session is revoked, or when the refresh token expires (30 days).
• Data stored in the Extension stays on your device until you sign out, clear the Extension's storage, or remove the Extension.
• Listing contents are not stored in our database. Application logs that mention a request keep identifiers only, and only for as long as those operational logs are retained.

Scale Trader is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy when Scale Trader, the law, or our practices change. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
